LIMA, March 3 (Reuters) - Peru"s Central Bank could raiseits benchmark interest rate "timidly" if it sees inflationcreeping up and strong economic growth, the bank"s presidentsaid on Wednesday.
"If we start removing (the monetary stimulus), the firsthike will likely be small," Central Bank president JulioVelarde told reporters, adding that the increase could be ofaround 0.25 base points.
